Professional Experience
Misheck Daka has over 43 years of experience in the field of Highway and Civil/Structural Engineering and Project Management and Contract administration. Major thrust areas cover the construction and project management of both highway and urban/mining infrastructure. His highway engineering projects include the design and supervision of roadworks including scheduling, quality control and approval of materials and works, estimation of quantities and costs, preparation of bills of quantities and technical specifications including dealing with contractual issues involving adjudication of contractors claims. Mr Daka has worked on LUCIP Dams in Swaziland. His managerial experience has been demonstrated in running Zulu Burrow Consultants Ltd, including dealing with contractors' claims and adjudication extensions of time.
Mr Daka holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the University Of Zambia, a Master of Science Degree in Construction Management from Loughborough University of Technology in the United Kingdom and a Master of Laws Degree in Construction Law, Adjudication and Arbitration from Robert Gordon University in Scotland. Mr. Daka is also credited with participation in the prestigious Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot hosted by Vienna. The Moots supreme goal is to foster the study of International Commercial Law and Arbitration for the resolution of international disputes through its application to a concrete problem of a Client and train leaders in alternative dispute resolution methods. Mr Daka is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK.
Mr. Daka is a Board Member of the Lusaka Arbitration Centre, Country Representative of Dispute Resolution Board in Zambia and is the Vice Chair of the Chartered Institute Of Arbitrators, Zambian Chapter.
